General Shipping
At SailorFancyDress, all shipments are now sent via UK Mail who offer a next day delivery service from Monday to Thursday. Generally, orders placed with us will leave our warehouse within one business day and be delivered the next, although this cannot be guaranteed due to circumstances beyond our control.
Occasionally during busy times one or more items in your order may be temporarily out of stock. We have 2 deliveries per week from our supplier so you should not be waiting more than a few days and you are able to cancel your order for a full refund if you inform us using the Contact Us page before the order is dispatched.
You should always allow at least 1 week between placing your order and your party date. If the costume is required for a date within 1 week of ordering please add a note during checkout to let us know and we will do our best to dispatch as soon as possible. 'Late' delivery in such case though is not a valid reason for a return.
We reserve the right to use another carrier if the need arises and for non UK-mainland address we will usually use Royal Mail services.
Please note that any free shipping offers are valid for UK addresses only.
Out of stocks
If part of your order is not in stock when we process your order we will process the remaining items so that we get the rest of your order to you as soon as possible. If you want us to hold or cancel your order if specific items are not immediately in stock then you must tell us at the time you place the order using the Comments box provided.
International Shipping
Shipping to mainland Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA is via Royal Mail recorded airmail so please be aware a signature will be required on delivery.
Cancelling your contract
Sailor Fancy Dress want to provide you with 100% satisfaction. If for any reason you wish to cancel your order just let us know within 7 working days of purchase by using the Contact Us form. You will need to pay for the carriage and you must not have opened the packaging.
Damages & Exchanges
Your satisfaction is our top priority. We sell only the finest quality products from reputable manufacturers, so we rarely have quality problems with any of our products. But if your item is damaged or defective in some way, we'll make sure you're taken care of. Please contact us with details.
Returns
You have a statutory duty to take reasonable care of the items while in your possession. This means ensuring the clothing is not marked or damaged in any way. Please, for your own benefit, remove all make-up and deodorant before trying on our outfits as damaged goods cannot be refunded!!!
Please find your specific situation from the list of scenarios below to learn how we handle that particular situation:
1. You decided to cancel your order
If the order hasn't been shipped out yet, we can cancel the order and issue you a refund with no penalty. If you do not cancel the order until after it has already been shipped, your situation will be handled according to situation 2 below.
2. You've received the product but you've decided you want to return it
If you receive an item and decide to return it you must use the contact form to inform us within 48 hours of delivery. Any returns after this time will be eligible for a store credit only and not a refund. Please note that we cannot accept returns on stockings or outfits which come with underwear or hosiery for health and safety reasons.
Please ensure that:
1) The item is unused and is still in the original packaging.
2) You return the item within 14 days to the address given to you when you contact us to inform us of the return.
3) You include a note of your order number, name and address in the returned package.
If you meet all of the above requirements, you may choose a refund or an exchange. Refunds will be issued within 14 days unless:
a) you did not inform or then wait for response from us via the contact page
b) items have, in our opinion, been worn, are damaged in any way, stained, creased, smell of smoke, perfume, etc.
c) you don't include a note of your order number, name and address
d) item is not in original packing.
e) the item does not arrive back to us - we recommend you use an insured and trackable delivery service for your own protection.
You are responsible for return shipping charges to return the product to us. We are unable to refund any original shipping charges.
Any returned goods which are outside of this Returns Policy will not be refunded. A reason for this decision will be provided. We are happy to re-ship such items back to you at your cost, otherwise they will be disposed of within 30 calendar days from their receipt back to us. Where a customer does not agree to the return postage charge the said goods will be disposed after 30 days.
3. You received an item that appears to have been damaged during shipping
If a package appears to have been damaged during shipping, the item is oftentimes still okay. If the packaging for your item appears to be damaged, be sure to keep all the original packaging until you've determined whether or not a shipping insurance claim needs to be submitted. If any of the original packaging is thrown away, we cannot file a shipping insurance claim. Discarding shipping materials or box contents waives your right to get your product replaced or repaired. Before contacting us, please check the contents and if the costume is ok there is no reason to contact us or file a shipping damage claim. If your product is faulty due to the damages that occurred during shipping and you have kept the original shipping materials, please contact us so that we may submit a shipping insurance claim. Once we have confirmed that you still have the original shipping materials and that the item was damaged during shipping, and after we have officially filed the shipping insurance claim forms, we will send out new parts or a new product at no cost to you.
4. You refuse the delivery of your order, and it comes back to us
If you refuse an item and it comes back to us, you will be issued a refund LESS a 15% restocking fee and our actual cost for shipping and handling. If the item is damaged or lost during the shipping process, no refund will be issued until the shipping insurance claim process is complete. Once the shipping claim process is complete, you will be issued a refund in the amount we are reimbursed by the courier.
When you have received confirmation to return the order, we will issue return instructions. Please do not send items to any address before receiving specific instructions from us.
5. Item doesn't fit
Please let us know via the contact page within 72 hours of you signing for your costume if it doesn't fit. We'll be happy to replace it for a different size if available or a refund if not.
